CURRENCY
The US dollar is the official currency. Most hotels, restaurants and taxi services accept traveler’s cheques, which can be cashed at local banks. Most international credit cards are accepted and banks offer ATM’s as well as cash advances on credit cards.
CAR RENTAL
Anyone with a valid driver's license from their home country and a valid credit card may drive on the Islands. Renting a vehicle for at least part of your stay is often the easiest way to get around, especially if you plan to explore. You must be 25 or over to rent a vehicle. Remember that driving is on the left side.

TAXIS
Taxis are readily available from the airport as well as hotels. Most large hotels also offer courtesy transfers from the airport to the hotel. Taxis are also accessible on every island of the chain and may be the most common and reliable form of transportation.
FERRIES
With service several times a day the TCI Ferry Service is another cost effective option to travel between Providenciales and North Caicos. In Providenciales the ferry departs from Walking Marina at Heaving Down Rock in Leeward (head east on Leeward Highway and the marina is at the end of the road). In North Caicos it departs from Sandy Point Marina. Be sure to rent a car or arrange for a taxi before a trip to North Caicos as transportation might not be readily available. You can even travel across North Caicos to Middle Caicos via the causeway for further exploration of the Islands.
SCOOT IT!
Scooters may be rented and can be a great way to get around Provo. If you are comfortable and experienced with scooters, it is a cost effective way to see the sights, and of course, have FUN!
